Quick start
Make yourself at home.
The essentials for your first Lappy session.
You’ll need
- Lappy
- A supported Dragy Pro receiver. Close other phone clients before pairing. Dragy and Dragy Lite might not be fully supported yet, test carefully.
Steps
Power on
Hold PWR to start. Startup opens the instrument, with timing disarmed.
Find your receiver
Open Settings → Find Dragy Device. Select the intended receiver explicitly; pairing is remembered.
Wait for usable GPS
Check connection, GPS quality and measured receiver rate. Timing waits for the required quality; Bluetooth connection alone is not GPS readiness.
Choose a mode
Use Street for live values, Drag for supported tests and Track for your selected course. Swipe horizontally between the mode’s pages.
Save and shut down
Hold PWR for about one second. Lappy saves before shutting down. A short press cycles companion views instead.
If an update is interrupted
Keep the original session folder. It contains your pre-update backup and the exact release. Reconnect the same Lappy and recover that update; a newer release will not replace the interrupted target.
Recovery instructions ›Troubleshooting
No device appears
Try a known USB data cable, another USB port and a direct connection without a hub. Close other software using the serial port.
Permission was denied
Allow USB and local-folder access when prompted. If blocked previously, review this site’s browser permissions.
The backup cannot be saved
No device write is allowed until saved recovery files pass read-back. Choose a local writable folder with enough space.
The update was interrupted
Choose Recover update, select the original session directory and reconnect the same Lappy. Retry uses the exact retained package.
The screen remains dark
After Firmware verified, wait 30 seconds, unplug USB and turn Lappy on normally if needed. If it still cannot start, use the recovery guide and retain the original backup folder.
